Lamar Elementary Rocket Launch

Clear skies, fair winds, compressed air and the "swoosh" of rockets were all it took to put ear-to-ear grins on the public at the Lamar Elementary Rocket Launch on Saturday, 19 July. San Angelo Composite Squadron cadets set up both compressed-air and solid-fuel rocket launching pads and conducted multiple launches of both types of rockets.

The lead-up to the day was hectic in that cadets did all the planning and preparations for the event. Solid-fuel and compressed-air rockets were prepared for the initial portion of the day, then attending children were assisted by cadet members in building compressed-air rockets. The children were then afforded the opportunity to launch their compressed-air rockets into the blue.
