Memorial Day Ceremony Print E-mail

The San Angelo Composite Squadron cadets remembered those that served in the United States military by place flags on the graves of veterans at Belvedere Memorial Park in San Angelo.

The American flag could be heard flapping in the breeze as each cadet ceremoniously marched to each headstone, placed a flag on the grave, and rendered the courtesy of a sharply executed hand salute.  Then each cadet proceeded to the next row of headstones and again extended the courtesy of a hand salute.   The cadets continued until all 143 veteran's graves received an American flag.

A small gathering of Civil Air Patrol members, parents, family of the decease, and veterans observed the ceremony.

This is the 12th year the San Angelo Squadron has observed Memorial Day by placing flags on the Veterans' graves at the cemetery.  The Tom Green County All Veterans Council provided the flags. Cadets render courtesy at veteran's graves
